Brookfield Duece—born Frank Thomas Miller II—is a born and raised East Oakland native from the Brookfield Village. Duece has grown up surrounded by social and economic changes to the city as he’s spoken to those things in his music as a hip hop artist. Duece was the first signee to Front Page Music Inc., a record label founded by Oakland rapper and Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Point Guard, Damian Lillard.
An ambidextrous creative, Duece—recently appointed an A&R to Front Page Music—also serves as a Songwriter, Director, and Co-Founder of Grand Nationxl, a creative community, run, managed, and lead solely by independent artists, musicians, and designers. Duece’s new album Coordinates was released in May 2022, after a 3 year span of working on Damian Lillard’s music brand doing work with companies such as Hulu, NBA2K, Gatorade and more. Duece’s Coordinates album features artists;Stove God Cooks, LaRussell, Jane Handcock and fellow Grand Nationxl Members, Kevin Allen, Mani Draper, and Passwurdz.Coordinates was released with regional acclaim after debuting at number 24 on the Apple Hip Hop Charts.
With the multidisciplinary creative group (Grand Nationxl) in its second year of operation, the roster of artists has released multiple albums, directed music videos for many artists in the region, and collaborated with companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Massive Music, Ready Hit Play, Oakland Roots FC and more. Influenced heavily by the state of affairs worldwide, Duece’s artistic expressions both musically & visually, parallel many of today’s cultural truths.
